Always & Tampax Always Radiant Collection Review

Yes... I know talking about that time of the month is never fun, but it's natural. So ladies, let's be bold! Let's talk about pads, tampons, and the ever so mysterious "p" word.

Anyway, I'm getting off my soapbox now. Thanks to Influenster, this month that time was made a little easier. As you can see above in my box I received the "Always Radiant Collection".

My box came about two days after my last day of my cycle last month, so I had to wait to comment about the products until now.

First up, we have the new Always Radiant Infinity pad. If you are as familiar with the infinity line of products as I am, I'm sure you know they are amazing. I've never tried it, but I'm sure one of those little babies could absorb a whole bottle of water if you poured it slowly over it. Lol, now I'm gonna have to try that. Anyway, the main difference with this one is there is a light floral scent added (instead of it smelling like cotton... or something). As described by Always it's to "keep women feeling fresh". Sadly, this scent is what will keep me from purchasing this. I have enough products that have a fragrance on me daily, so by the end of using it my head was aching from scent overload. I'll take my Infinity-s unscented please!

Admittedly, I don't use liners often so that one is still sitting in the bathroom unused.

Also inside the adorable wristlet were 2 Tampax Radiant tampons. I have a crazy fear of TSS so I probably go through more of these than I should in a 4-5 day period. A friend in high school got it, so I'm crazy OCD about counting hours and such, lol. I've honestly wanted to try these out, but still have some of the Tampax pearls left so I couldn't justify buying them. The differences between Pearl and Radiant are minimal at best, but I definitely like Radiant better. When I was younger, I always felt the need to hide that I had my period. What ALWAYS gave it away was the sound the wrapper made when you opened a tampon/pad. Tampax has redesigned the packaging so there is little to no sound, and it's resealable so you can place the applicator back inside after it's used. The applicator itself is a tad different as well. It's slightly longer which makes gripping it much easier.

Hands down, Always and Tampax has the . market cornered. Kotex has nothing on you guys!!! I'm glad I got to try these out.

Influenster Love VoxBox

So, I just recently signed up for a site called Influenster. You earn badges according to the things you like to do/have/ect and are sent boxes of things to try. If you have cats, write a blog, do youtube, or even just like using your android a bit too much... there's a Voxbox out there just for you.

In February, I received an email that told me they would be sending me my very first one. Soooooo super happy. Did I forget to mention all of this is sent to you free of charge??

Anyway, when I got home from work today it was sitting on my table. My brother was so kind to open it and rifle through for me, but needless to say I'm still pretty happy.

So according to the card this is all that's supposed to be in it:

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor: $8.99 - $10.99
Kiss Nail Dress - Fashion That Sticks: $6.99
Stash Tea Herbal Tea Sampler: $3.50
Ghirardelli Gourmet Milk Creamy Devotion Bar: $2.99
Truvia Natural Sweetner: $3.99 (40ct)

As you can see from my box, I didn't get the Kiss Nail Dress. I'm pretty sure that was an oversight on Influenster's part. But hey, I didn't pay for it so I can't complain. I wasn't familiar with the brand and I'm not crazy gung-ho about nail stuff anyway.

Since I'm familiar with the rest of the brands, I feel giving a first impression of them is alright.

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor: Venus brand razors are great! I've used them since the beginning of shaving time. Now that they've added Olay to the mix I'm rather excited to try it. With spring right around the corner, my legs thank you Influenster.

Stash Tea Sampler:  All I have to say is WOO! I love tea and Stash is one of my go to brands when I'm perusing the tea/coffee aisle. I've never tried any of the flavors in the box however, so I feel tonight may be a hot tea kind of night. It's supposed to snow anyway... I'll need something hot to drink :)

Ghiradelli Bar: While I've had my share of chocolate from them in the past, I know I've never had "Dark Milk" chocolate. I'm pretty interested in seeing what it'll taste like. Hummm wonder if it'll go well with hot tea, lol.

Truvia: Admittedly, I've never tried Truvia. I'm a hardcore Spelnda fan so I haven't felt the need to try the new stevia plant derived sweeteners. I guess I'll add some to my coffee tomorrow morning to see if I can detect any significant difference between the two.

So that about wraps up my first impressions. Be sure to look for more in-depth reviews later in the week once I've had a chance to try everything. If you're interested, check out the video below for a look at un-boxing my Lovebox :)

See you all soon! <3 Amber

** NOTE: After two days guess what popped up! The Kiss Nail Dress happened to show up underneath a cabinet in my kitchen. My brother must have dropped it when he was rifling through the box. Oh well.. Keep an eye out for a review of that.

Julep Maven March Box

As I'm sure a lot of you busy girls (and guys) out there know, being busy doesn't leave much time for shopping. That's where the wondrous thing called online shopping steps in. Recently, I've stumbled upon a few beauty "subscription services" that take even less time out of my day. Needless to say, I love me some beauty subscriptions.

The most recent one I've joined is nail based. The Julep Maven boxes are sent on the 27th of each month and cost $19.99 per box. Every month they send out a box filled with salon quality nail polishes and nail (sometimes body) care items.I know, I know. $20 for nail polish?! They have coupon codes continually being sent out so that your first box is only $5, $1, or even 1 cent! That way you get to see how amazing the polish is before you commit to spending $20 on it :) And think, two bottles of O.P.I should run you almost the price of the box anyway.

Just like all of the other subscription services out there, you take a little quiz to determine what type of style profile you fit into. For me I'm technically Boho Chic, but found that I'd rather get three bottles of polish a month instead of a nail care product I may never use. So, needless to say I've been getting the It Girl box.

This month features:

Charlotte - a lavender creme
Jodie - a rosey color with gold shimmer
Melissa - a VERY pretty opal color.

Both Charlotte and Jodie were smooth and went on opaque in just one coat. Melissa however, seeing as it's labeled as a "top coat", will always have a bit of nail peeking through.

Photos and a video to come!

If you're interested in checking out Julep.com, follow that link to take your own style quiz. *Note: that link will bring you to the website using my referral information.
